Lancelot Führy conducted the Dortmund Philharmonic in the German Première of Magnetite on June 6th and commented after the performance “Magnetite is an outstanding piece, full of imagination and skillful writing, creating impressive orchestral colours. It was very well received by the musicians and the audience and I am glad we included it in our programme.” The performance was also a critical success with Westdeutsche Allgemeine Zeitung/Westfälische Rundschau commenting “Magnetite describes the journey into one of these crystals. Melodies vanish, the music floats between loud and quiet” and Ruhrnachrichten “The Philharmonic beautifully described how ‘sound planes’ [literally] gravitate towards one another and push off.”
